The compositions are examples from his treatise on ornamentation for bowed string instruments, published in Rome in 1553. This torrent is a transcription of the Harmonia Mundi LP HMC 393, featuring music by the 16th century Spanish music theoriest Diego Ortiz. The arrangements, performances, and recordings are all of the highest quality and are well worth checking out, if you are able to make use of 24-bit audio files. I have most of their work on LPs in excellent condition and am uploading 24-bit, 44.1 kHz transcriptions using an analog rig that is near state-of-the-art. Their recordings of Ancient Greek music and of folias are available on CD, but most are no longer in print. Atrium Musicae de Madrid was founded in 1964 by the Spanish monk Gregorio Paniagua, and in the 1970s-1980s released a series of unparalleled recordings of music from Spain and elsewhere.
